Clairemont Mesa Dentist An Nguyen
Dr. Nguyen graduated from the University of California, Irvine, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Nguyen then attended the University of Southern California School of Dentistry, where she excelled among her peers. She was placed on the Dean’s Honor List and was a pre-clinical instructor for dental morphology, occlusion, and restorative dentistry. Dr. Nguyen continuously seeks to advance her knowledge and skills by attending Annual continuing education courses, seminars, and workshops. Over the last ten years of practicing dentistry, Dr. Nguyen has helped thousands of patients in San Diego County, treating various problems with restorative and cosmetic dentistry – ranging from minor chipped teeth to complete full mouth restorations, or smile makeovers, using porcelain dental veneers, dental crowns, and dental implants.
Dr. Nguyen is happily married, enjoys outdoor activities, helping the San Diego County community, exercising, traveling, and spending time with her two energetic boys, Ethan and Derek.

Dr. Nicole Vane
Dr. Nicole Vane attended the University of California, Berkeley and went on to attend Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, graduating with high honors in 2003. In the same year she was inducted into the Piere Fauchard Academy, an international honor society, for her academic and clinical achievements. Dr. Vane strives for clinical excellence, having taken hundreds of hours of continuing education in all fields of general dentistry. In the past year she has been a member of the acclaimed Hornbrook Group, where she has trained in their techniques of advanced cosmetic dentistry and occlusion. Dr. Vane is a current member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the PAED Cosmetic Group, and the San Diego Dental Society.
Carol "CJ" East, R.D.H.
Carol East graduated from Southwestern College in 2001 as a Dental Hygiene Class President. She was awarded as a recipient of the “Professionalism Award 2001”. Carol has more than 16 years of dental experience and excels in helping patients overcome their dental fears. She is great at creating a pleasant and comfortable environment while maintaining patients’ teeth and gums. Carol is happily married to her husband Robert with two extremely active two-year-old twins, Isabella and Danielle. She also enjoys playing soccer and taking her two Labrador retrievers to the beach.
Leilani "Lani" Hernandez, R.D.H.
Lani graduated from Southwestern College Dental Hygiene in 2001 with more than ten years of dental experience. She is an active member in her community and has volunteered to educate children at Head Start Program. Lani hones her skills in dentistry with continuing education every year.
Lani is happily married to her husband, Radelle, of seven years and has two beautiful daughters, Riana and Ryah.
Victoria Nguyen, R.D.A.
Victoria Nguyen has been managing at New Smile Dental in Clairemont Mesa since 1997 and has been working in the dental profession since 1991. She started as a Certified Dental Assistant and enjoys interacting with patients and making them feel at home. Victoria enhanced her career by becoming a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with x-ray license, which included ultrasonic scaling and EKG certification. She is also a Certified Surgical Assistant with oral surgery, periodontal surgery, and dental implant surgery experience.
Victoria loves to work with children and will have some of her own someday. She enjoys helping out with children in Tae Kwon Do classes. She also loves to try new foods and tropical fruits.
Trina Nguyen
Trina Nguyen is our Patient Coordinator at our cosmetic dentistry practice in Clairemont. She is a full time student at Mesa College, majoring in Psychology with an emphasis in Sociology. She is the oldest of four in her family. She enjoys jogging at her leisure and catching up on new with "People Magazine." Her favorite fruits are pomegranates.
